The Ultra-Oil Blanket is a 10' long x 5' wide section of X-Tex material that has has ropes and anchors attached so that it can be tethered/anchored to the sand below the water's surface. The blanket will "tumble" in the surf and remove oil from water as it passes by and thru the filtering fabric.

X-Tex has the unusual benefit of being able to pull out emulsified oils which are created in the pounding surf as well as by dispersants used on the oil slicks offshore. Each Ultra-Oil Blanket is capable of absorbing approximately 16 gallons of oil. They are readily available and easy to change out.
